Maroons Edge Rockets In OT

The Chatham Maroons scored a close 4-3 overtime victory over the Strathroy Rockets on Saturday.

The Maroons took a 1-0 lead in the first period, but fell behind in the second after the Rockets scored three straight goals. The Maroons were able to gain another point before the third, and then tied Strathroy in the final frame to force OT.

Maroons forward Ross Krieger scored the game winner in extra time and says making the comeback in the second half of the game really shows how strong his team can be.

"I think it shows how how high are character is on the team and how close we are in the dressing room," he says. "We're willing to never give up as a team because we know the guy beside us is going to fight just as hard as we are to get he scoreboard going."

The Maroons take on the St. Marys Lincolns for the their final regular season game on Sunday at 7pm.
