Maroons Demolish Lincolns 13-4

The Chatham Maroons finished their regular season with huge 13-4 win over the St. Marys Lincolns on Sunday.

The Maroons gained a big 5-0 lead in the first period, which they extended to 10-3 by the end of the second. St. Marys was only able to score once more in the third, and Chatham finished the game by adding another three goals before the buzzer.

Maroons forward Steven Beenakers scored twice in the win. He says the win was a great way to end the regular season and start the playoff season.

"We're excited to get it going and no matter who we're going to go up against, we know we're going to go into the playoffs flying," he says. "We want to make a long run out of this."

The Maroons will face the St. Thomas Stars in the first round of the GOJHL playoffs.
