Man Killed In Thamesville ATV Crash

An ATV crash in Thamesville has left one man dead.

Around 2:43 am Tuesday police responded to a crash on Block Line east of Victoria Rd. Investigators say the ATV was southbound in a field when it crossed Block Line and struck a ditch embankment. A 21-year-old Sarnia man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chatham-Kent police constable Renee Cowell says the man was visiting some family in the Thamesville area.

"The deceased was the lone occupant on the ATV, however he was in the company of a friend," says Cowell. "So, two men were out riding their ATVs individually." Cowell says the deceased, along with his friend from Blenheim, were both wearing helmets.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

No name has been released.
