Maroons Down Stars In Game 1

The Chatham Maroons edged the St. Thomas Stars 4-3 to take a 1-0 playoff series lead on Thursday.

The Stars took a 2-0 lead in the first period and kept ahead 3-1 in the second. However, the Maroons were able to score three unanswered goals in the final frame to narrowly take the win.

Maroons Head Coach Tyler Roeszler says his team really has the ability to make a comeback performance.

"I think for these guys, they care about one another, and they're never out of any games. They give it right to the end, regardless of the score," he says. "It's incredible the way they battled and regardless of what's going on, they continue to battle and they're rewarded for it."

The Maroons and the Stars return to the ice for Game 2 on Friday at 7:30pm.
