Housing Inventory Low In CK

Housing inventory is at its lowest level since the late 1990s, according to the Chatham-Kent Association of Realtors.

"Many realtors are reporting multiple offers throughout CK, so if you are waiting for spring to list your house, you might want to list now," says Barb Phillips, president of the realtors association, in a media release.

There were 485 residential listings at the end of last month, which was down 0.6% from February 2015.

The average price of a home listed last month was $153,998, and Phillips says it's likely the region will see some further price growth this year.

As well, there were 86 sales in February 2016, which is up 10.3% on a year-over-year basis.
