Maroons Down Stars In Game 3

The Chatham Maroons now have a 3-0 series lead over the St. Thomas Stars after a 7-2 victory on Sunday.

The Maroons scored a 1-0 advantage in the first period, and were able to retain a 2-1 lead by the end of the second. Chatham surged ahead in the third, scoring another five goals over one from St. Thomas.

Maroons forward Gus Ford scored twice in the win and says everything really came together in the final frame.

"The fourth line had a big energy shift, they went out there and hit the guys pretty hard," he says. "We got a power play, potted one and then the flood gates just opened."

The Maroons will try to sweep the Stars in Game 4 on Tuesday at 7:30pm.
