UPDATE: WB 401 Reopens Near Highgate

A tractor-trailer fire that closed the westbound lanes of the 401 near Highgate, has been deemed not suspicious.

Chatham-Kent OPP say the driver noticed a fire near the rear drive axle of his transport around 8pm last night, so he pulled over at the Victoria Rd off ramp and exited the vehicle.

The fire spread to the trailer but was extinguished by emergency crews..

The highway was closed for a short time for clean up and to remove the tractor trailer.

No one was hurt.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
