Agencies Constantly Need Volunteers

A number of non-profit agencies are looking to recruit new volunteers for varied roles in Chatham-Kent.

There have been a number of volunteers fairs recently where groups get together so potential volunteers can compare agencies.

Marjorie Crew Community Development Coordinator for Community Home-Support Assisting People says non-profit groups often work together for recruiting.

"The networking that happens between the organizations, if you have a few minutes between clients coming to your booth, that chatting," she says. "Our volunteer base is mainly seniors and retirees so for whatever reason they retire from being a volunteer."

She says the supply of volunteers is cyclical, sometimes they are hard to find and sometimes there are plenty.
