Man Assaulted With Child Scooter, Golf Club

An assault with a piece of wood, golf club, and child's scooter has a pair of Chatham residents facing charges.

Police say the man and woman showed up at a Chatham apartment complex around 1am today looking for a specific man. Officers say they forced their way into an apartment but learned from the homeowner it was the wrong one.

The pair then entered another apartment through an unlocked door and found the man they were looking for, where a physical altercation ensued. Upon police arrival the pair were spotted fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed in a truck.

Investigators say they later switched vehicles and were located around 1:40am today and taken into custody and held for a bail hearing.

The 31-year-old Chatham man has been charged with two counts of break and enter and assault causing bodily harm. The 33-year-old woman has been charged with break and enter and assault causing bodily harm.

The victim was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
