No Charges In Fatal Crash

Chatham-Kent police say no charges will be laid in a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy near Bothwell.

Officials with the Traffic Management Unit say the evidence has led them to conclude the driver was not at fault.

On January 20 a Pontiac Montana struck two pedestrians on Longwoods Road, shortly after 6pm.

The 14-year-old on foot was transported to Four Counties Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Another 14-year-old was knocked from his bike, but was treated for only minor injuries.

The driver of the van, a 52-year-old Wardsville man, was not physically injured.
