Large Storm Bringing Freezing Rain, Snow

A large and messy storm system is still tracking towards southwestern Ontario and beyond.

Environment Canada's Geoff Coulson says drivers beware.

"Just a heads up for anyone planning travel either locally in the next couple of days into Michigan, eastwards towards Toronto and the Ottawa area, where this will be a full fledged winter type storm," says Coulson. "Also impact is expected in southern Quebec, New England, and Atlantic Canada, so for those planning to travel further afield in the coming days we're likely going to be seeing flight delays as well."

He says the Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent regions are expected to see mostly rain today through Friday, while London and northeast of the area is expected to see freezing rain, with some areas under a winter storm watch.

Coulson adds that Thursday's morning commute could get messy with freezing rain, and some flurries expected Friday morning.
