Flyers Beat Maroons, Tie Series

The Leamington Flyers scored a 3-1 victory over the Chatham Maroons to tie their second round playoff series 2-2  on Wednesday.

The Flyers scored a 1-0 lead in the first period, but after a scoreless second the Maroons tied the game 1-1 in the third. However, it was short lived with Leamington retaking the lead with a goal from Scott Emerson, who scored another in the final 11 seconds to cap the win for the Flyers.

Maroons Head Coach Tyler Roeszler says they weren't able to follow through on a number of plays.

"There was times when guys got the puck and for whatever reason they panicked instead of making a good hockey play. That hasn't been in our hockey game for a long time," he says. "We had eight opportunities of five on three that we had to capitalize... That was the difference in the game."

The Maroons and Flyers return to the ice on Thursday at 7:10pm for Game 5.
