UPDATE: Man Identified In Homicide Investigation (GALLERY)

Police have released the identity of a deceased male found in south Sarnia, in what's become the city's first murder of the year.

Police say they are treating the death of Jonathan Patrick Pike, 26, of Sarnia, as a homicide.

Pike's body was found by police in a wooded area just west of Tashmoo Ave. during the early morning hours on Friday.

A portion of Tashmoo Ave. remained closed as the criminal investigations branch continues to probe the scene.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
