Police Investigate String of Fires

Chatham-Kent police are looking into three fires that torched sheds and barns just northwest of Thamesville Sunday .

Just after 9pm fire crews found a steel clad shed fully engulfed in flames in the Grove Mills Line and Bear Creek Rd. area. The shed was completely destroyed, along with the contents inside. A total of $750 worth of property was lost in the blaze.

Later, around 10pm crews responded to a fire at an old barn just northeast of Grove Mills Line. Just a half an hour later another shed was destroyed by fire in the area of Cider Mill Line and Brick Rd. Damages there came in around $200.

In all three incidents no one was residing on the properties where the fires occurred, but police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact Chatham-Kent police or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
