Body Found At Scene Of Blenheim House Fire

Police are treating a house fire in Blenheim as "criminal in nature" following the discovery of a body.

Investigators tell BlackburnNews.com 73-year-old Margaret Ardis was found dead inside a home at 58 Nicols Dr.

Fire crews were called to that address around 1pm on Thursday, March 24 for a house fire.

Police have not said why the investigation is being treated as criminal or if the fire was deliberately set.

Both the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Chatham-Kent Police Service and the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office remain on scene.

A cause of death for Ardis has not been released.
