22nd Annual Roots Of Bruce Underway In Walkerton

Hundreds of youngsters are learning this week where their food comes from.

The 22nd annual Roots of Bruce is on in Walkerton. The farming community has set up displays with i'nformation for the kids, including hands on experience with farm animals. Roots of Bruce chair Monica Zettel says the theme of this year's event is "Value Food Value Farmers."

"I think we need the children to realize that the food they find in the grocery store, there's a long process for it to get there and it's something they need to know about, they can't take it for granted," says Zettel.

Roots of Bruce continues through Friday at the Walkerton Agricultural Society buildings.
