Scissor Wielding Man Tasered At Hospital

Police say a 38-year-old Chatham man had to be tasered at the health alliance after allegedly threatening hospital staff with scissors.

Officers were called to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance yesterday morning for a report of an aggressive patient who would not listen to staff.

When police arrived, they allege the man grabbed a pair of scissors and held them in an "assaultive manor." When he refused to drop the scissors police tasered him and then he was arrested.

He now faces charges of being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with his probation order.

He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
