Unsafe Vehicles Targeted In Blitz

A commercial vehicle safety blitz in Chatham yesterday resulted in 25 provincial offences act charges and impounding of a vehicle.

The Chatham-Kent police traffic unit teamed up with the OPP and the Ministry of Transport.

They went looking for vehicles that might have safety violations, they inspected 27 and took 13 out of service.

Police also kept the licence plates of six of the vehicles.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
