Windsor's Jobless Rate Keeps On Falling

Statistics Canada says Windsor's jobless rate continued to fall in April, falling to 6.4% from 7% in March.

That continues its downward trend this year. In January, the jobless rate was 9.3%. In February, it was 7.7%.

In London, the closest city where Statistics Canada releases figures for unemployment, the rate rose to 7.3% last month from 6.6% in March.

The Ontario rate rose slightly to 7% from 6.8% the month before.

Canada's unemployment rate didn't change. It's still 7.1%, although 2,100 jobs were lost across the country.

Among youth aged 15 to 24 years, the rate was 13.1% in April, a slight adjustment upwards from 13.4%.
