Charges Laid After Vandalism

There was another incident of vandalism at the former Victoria Park School on Murray St. in Chatham, but this time there have been arrests.

Last night about 10:30pm, police got a call about vandals at the building and three people were seen trying to leave the area.

Two of them, both girls, one 14 years old and one 15 years old, were taken into custody and the 15-year-old was released unconditionally.

Shortly after midnight a 13-year-old boy was taken into custody.

He and the 14-year-old girl both face charges.

Police believe the incident is related to another earlier this week at the school and a downtown variety store.
