Teen Killed In Charing Cross Crash

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash in Charing Cross.

It happened just after 3am Saturday morning.

Police say a vehicle with four young people inside was travelling at a high rate of speed westbound on Middle Line when it left the road. It crashed through a fenced compound on Charing Cross Rd. and slammed into a large snow blower.

An 18-year-old was located on scene and taken to hospital where police say he later died. The other passengers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver, a 17-year-old male, has been arrested and charged with criminal negligence causing death and failing to provide a breath sample.

Police are not releasing the names of anyone involved.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
