Environment Canada Says Hot Weekend Ahead

Southwestern Ontario is expected to get its first taste of summer-like temperatures this weekend.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex. They say a warm and humid air mass is settling in across the region.

While most areas won't get warm enough for a heat warning, maximum temperatures will range between 28C (82F) to 30C (86F) Friday, and between 29C (84F) to 32C (90F) Saturday.

Max temperatures on Sunday and Monday will also be in the high twenties, with overnight lows in the mid to high teens.

The weather agency advises residents to drink plenty of cool liquids, dress for the weather and spend a few hours each day in a cool place.
