Wheatley Fishing Company Fined For Spoiled Perch

A Wheatley fishing company plead guilty to allowing nearly 600-lbs of fish to spoil on board their boat.

Pisces Fishery Inc. has been fined $3,000 by the Ministry of Natural Resources after flesh on the fish they caught became "unsuitable for human consumption."

Back on November 27, 2012 a court heard the vessel fishing on Lake Erie caught 595-lbs of yellow perch valued at $1,300.

Conservation officers conducted an on-the-water inspection of the boat and found the spoiled fish.

The case was heard and fine issued at the Ontario Court of Justice in Blenheim on May 26.
