The power authority restored electricity to about 570 homes just before 3pm Wednesday.
A caller to BlackburnNews.com says the power had been out since about 1:30pm.
Crews say the outage stemmed from an equipment failure.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
