Firefighters from five fire stations aggressively battled a fully involved barn fire in Mount Forest early yesterday.

Fire Chief Dave Guilbault says the barn was destroyed with damages estimated at $400,000. but they managed to save nearby buildings.  He says a small butcher shop had minor damage.

There were no injuries.  The Fire Marshal was called to help confirm a cause.

Guilbault says the owner accidentally set charcoal from a kiln onto a wood pile, and sparked the blaze.
