Relay Still Hoping to Reach Goal

Over 370 people raised over $80,000 during the Relay for Life in Chatham Saturday.

The money goes towards cancer research and programs at the Canadian Cancer Society.

Fundraising co-ordinator Krissy Rioux says this is the most important fundraiser for the organization. "This fundraising event raises more money across the nation then any other event. So with the dollars that we raised tonight we can continue programs like our 'Wheels for Hope' program, our research, we can continue our support programs," says Rioux. This year's goal for the event was $115,000. Rioux expects more funds to come in over the next few days to help reach that total.
