CK Cop Formally Charged With Sexual Assault

Chatham-Kent police officer Kenneth Miller has been officially charged with sexual assault after an investigation by Ontario's Special Investigations Unit (SIU).

SIU Director Tony Loparco says the charge is in connection with an incident at an Orangewood Blvd. parking lot in August 2015. Miller has also been charged with one count of breach of trust.

The Professional Standards Branch of the Chatham-Kent Police Service has laid Police Service Act charges which fall under the Code of Conduct for Police Officers. Chatham-Kent police add they will continue to investigate further.

Miller will make his first court appearance in Chatham on July 5. He has been suspended from duty since August 27, 2015.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
