Weapons Call At Chatham Court House

A man is charged after police responded to a weapons call at the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on Friday.

Police report an employee witnessed a man with a weapon — thought to be a handgun — arguing with a woman in the parking lot.

Responding officers found their suspect in his vehicle. Police say a pellet-handgun made to look like a real gun was found in the suspect's vehicle.

The man, who is charged with uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, was not identified by police and was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
