Alleged Drunk Driver Hits Car, Pole, And Tree

A 38-year-old man faces impaired driving charges after an incident in Erieau.

Chatham-Kent police say just before 7pm Saturday, a motorist was driving along Erie Shore Dr., when the vehicle sideswiped a parked car. Officers say the driver also hit a hydro pole, and then a tree. There were no injuries in the crash.

Police arrived on scene and arrested the motorist, believing he was impaired. Officers allege the suspect's blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit.

A 38-year-old Dover Township man is now charged with impaired driving, and has a future court date.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
