Pride Flag Stolen, Damaged And Thrown In Trash

Provincial police are investigating after a Pride Flag erected in honour of the Orlando shooting victims was vandalized in Ingersoll.

Oxford OPP say between 3pm and 3:30pm on Monday the flag was stolen from the flag pole in a park at the corner of Thames St. and Charles St. The flag was later found damaged in a nearby garbage can.

In addition to honouring the victims of the Orlando shooting, the flag was also put up to commemorate Pride month.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 519-485-6554 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
