UPDATE: Windsor Police Confirm Shooting Motive

Windsor police are in the process of getting warrants to search a home and to arrest a 20-year-old Windsor man, in connection with a shooting in Walkerville.

It happened Wednesday, just before 1pm, in the Tim Hortons parking lot on Wyandotte St. E. at Walker Rd.

Staff Sergeant Mark Denonville says the 26-year-old victim and the suspected gunman knew each other and are known to police. He adds that the altercation was about drugs, and was not a random act.

Since then, officers have conducted two ground searches around the scene and at a home in the 900-block of Monmouth Rd.

The victim, who was shot in the abdomen, had surgery yesterday, is in stable condition, and is currently being questioned by police.
