No One Hurt During Wallaceburg-Area House Fire

Chatham-Kent fire officials say the damages are estimated at $100,000 after an early morning house fire broke out on Hwy. 40 just south of Wallaceburg.

The blaze was reported by a passing motorist who called 911 at around 3:30am Thursday.

Firefighters responded quickly and were able to save about $75,000 worth of property.

Everyone who was inside the house when the fire started was able to get out safely and no injuries were reported.

Investigators are still trying to determine what sparked the blaze.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
