Catholic Board Reaches Deal With Occasional Teachers

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has a new three-year contract with 290 occasional teaching staff.

A local tentative agreement with the members of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association Occasional Unit was reached June 17 and has since been ratified by OECTA and the board of trustees.

Over the term of the agreement retroactive to September 1, 2014 the teachers get wage increases totaling 1.5% plus a 1% lump sum payment in the second year.

The new agreement runs to the end of August 2017.

Director of Education Dan Parr says negotiations with all of the board's unions and associations are now successfully concluded.
