Fatal Crash North Of Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent OPP have identified the man who died after a single-vehicle crash on Hwy. 40 north of Wallaceburg.

Police say a GMC Jimmy with two people inside was heading south on the highway just before 3am Thursday before it left the roadway and rolled into the ditch.

Officers say 61-year-old Walter Kenneth Brown of St. Clair Township was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second person who was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries for treatment.

Hwy. 40 was closed between Langstaff Line and Dufferin Ave. for approximately six hours for the police investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
