Sarnia Unlikely To Join World Jr. Bid

Tourism Sarnia-Lambton says Sarnia isn't likely to make a joint bid for the 2019 World Jr. Hockey Tournament.

News surfaced earlier this week that London and Windsor were considering making a push for the international event.

TSL spokesperson Vicky Praill says the average game attendance is about 12,000 for the event and the city doesn't have the facilities to support it.

She says however there are other ways the city could become involved including offering practice ice, hotels, and room for overflow crowds.

The request for proposal deadline for the 2019 World Jrs. is August 31.
