Tilbury Summer Festival

A new weekend and new events highlight the Tilbury Kinsmen Summer Festival.

The event used to take place in June but was moved to July in hopes of finding better weather.

"There's free swimming, lots of music, ride, and vendors," says organizer Doug Demers. "Then on Saturday we'll have our parade. We're bringing back the old school parade, where if anyone remembers, you decorated your bike and you won a prize. Best float gets a prize, $100 donated to the charity of their choice."

The money raised goes to a number of different things.

"We do minor hockey, we sponsored a couple kids last year, we've bought nets for soccer," says Demers. "We just recently put up a new board in front of the high school."

There will be live bands every night, including tributes to Queen, CCR, and Pat Benatar.

The ball hockey tournament is sold out, and new this year, there is a Harley Davidson Draw and Beer for a Year Draw.
