UPDATE: EB 401 Reopened After Crash

The EB 401, has been reopened near Raleigh Township, but motorists should still expect some traffic delays.

Emergency crews responded to a collision on the highway near Dillon Rd. around 12:30pm Tuesday.

OPP say the "chain reaction" collision started with a number of cars stopped behind a broken-down vehicle. A tractor trailer ran into the back of the last stopped vehicle, which then hit the next vehicle in the line. One motorist suffered minor injuries, but wasn't taken to hospital.

Three vehicles suffered "extensive" damage in the crash. A 52-year-old motorist is now charged with careless driving.

Witnesses say traffic is moving extremely slowly on the EB 401 between Tilbury and Chatham.
