Drawing Customers Downtown Year-Round

The Downtown Chatham BIA isn't organizing a one-time Sidewalk Sales event this summer.

Instead, BIA spokesperson Nancy Labadie says they are planning to hold a series of smaller events in the city's core.

"The BIA has gone in a different direction this year where we have focused on doing some monthly events called 'Downtown In The City,'" says Labadie. "We're also hoping to showcase a larger event in September called the 'Downtown In The City Extravaganza.'"

This month's "Downtown In The City" event is taking place in downtown Chatham today with merchants staying open until 8pm to mark the occasion.

The Chatham Capitol Theatre is also participating by hosting a concert featuring two-time CMAO Rising Star nominee Brooklyn Roebuck tonight. The Mandy Jo Project will open the show at 7:45pm.

There will also be another "Downtown In The City" event on August 19, 2016 with a "Back to School" theme.

The "Downtown In The City Extravaganza" will take place on September 9, 2016.
