Pregnant Woman Assaulted

Charges have been laid after a pregnant woman was shoved during an altercation in Chatham.

Police were called to a residence on Harvey St. shortly after 5pm on Monday after a man forced his way in and assaulted the man living there.

He then allegedly pushed a pregnant woman who attempted to intervene. She fell and paramedics were called as a precaution.

Officers arrested the 18-year-old suspect a few blocks away and charged him with break and enter, and two counts of assault.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
