A Weekend-Long Celebration

The Ridgetown Rejuvenation Association is hosting their annual festival of porches and verandahs this weekend.

Member of the association and chair of arts in the park, Marlee Robinson says when the festival started back in 2009 it was to celebrate the town's Victorian architectural heritage by having an elegant luncheon with a Victorian inspired menu.

Robinson says since then it has grown into an entire weekend of events that cater to many different age groups.

"This is all free so people don't have to pay to come to this," says Robinson. "It's not a fundraiser, it's being run completely by volunteers and it's supported by the Howard Mutual Foundation."

The activities range from face painting and pony rides to a museum exhibition and live music. In addition, there will also be a barbecue and beer tent for adults.
