The warning was issued at around 6pm on Thursday, with meteorologists tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, pea to dime size hail and heavy rain.
The weather agency says the storms may have been capable of producing heavy downpours that could cause flash flooding and water pooling on roads.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
