OPP Find Body Of Missing Swimmer

The Ontario Provincial Police say they have found the body of 56-year-old Laura Del-bel of Farmington Hills, Michigan in the waters of Lake Erie off Colchester Harbour.

Del-bel disappeared Sunday afternoon. She was with a group of boaters, about a kilometre off shore from Colchester Harbour when she and another boater decided to go swimming. While the other swimmer resurfaced, Del-bel did not.

The search involved members of the Essex County OPP Marine Unit, the Essex County Emergency Response Team, the OPP K-9 unit, the OPP Helicopter and the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit.

Del-bel's body was found around 8:45pm Monday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
