Serious Crash Near Thamesville Injures Two

A 52-year-old woman is in hospital with serious injuries after she was involved in a single-vehicle collision near Thamesville.

Police say her husband, a 49-year-old Cambridge man, was behind the wheel when he lost control of the vehicle on Base Line near Brick Rd. and crashed into a ditch at around 7:20pm Tuesday.

Both the man and his wife had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency crews.

The man was taken to the hospital in Chatham, but was later released. His wife was airlifted from the scene to a hospital in London where she's being treated for what are being described as "serious injuries."

Police are still looking for tips from the public. Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Doug Cowell at 519-355-1092.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
