She Tried To Call 911

A 29-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after police say he stopped a woman from calling 911.

Officers say they arrested the man after receiving multiple 911 hang-up calls from a residence on Baldoon Rd. early Wednesday morning.

When police showed up at the address, they learned that the man wasn't supposed to communicate with the woman who lived there and had allegedly been preventing her from calling police.

Investigators allege when the woman tried to call 911, the man grabbed her cell phone and disabled it by taking out the battery and the SIM card.

He's now charged with mischief and breach of probation.
