Highbury Canco Holds Job Fair

There's a tent set up outside Highbury Canco in Leamington today, for both seasonal and full-time workers.

The company's looking for 200 seasonal workers to help out during the tomato harvest, but it's also looking for general labourers, production supervisors, a material planner, quality coordinator, project manager and a human resources manager.

The job fair runs until 4pm at the corner of Oak St. and Erie St.

Last month, President Sam Diab told BlackburnNews.com the company has signed new contracts and this fall, it expects, even more. Usually, the plant shuts down its regular operations during the tomato harvest, but to keep up demand, it can't.

Right now the plant employs 440 full-time workers.
