Drunk Teen Assaults Two Women

A 19-year-old Wallaceburg man is in trouble with the law after allegedly assaulting two women while he was trying to evade police.

Police say the man was drunk when they found him in the area of McNaughton Ave. and Dufferin Ave. in Wallaceburg at around 1:10am Tuesday morning.

Investigators say when officers arrived at the scene, the man jumped on the hood of the police cruiser they showed up in -- damaging the vehicle's hood, windshield, and roof.

According to police, as the man continued to evade the officers, he pushed a woman off her bike and assaulted a second woman who was trying to intervene.

Both of those women suffered minor injuries.

Police say the man was taken into custody a short time later and charged with three counts of mischief and two counts of assault.
