Officer At Tim Hortons Breaks Up Fight

Chatham-Kent police say one of their officers happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Police say the officer was at Tim Hortons on Third St. when a fight broke out between two men outside the restaurant.

The officer was able to break it up and ended up arresting a 42-year-old Chatham man.

He's charged with assault and is being held pending a future court date of August 31.

There's no word what caused the fight.

The victim, who police say was a 56-year-old Chatham man, reportedly sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
