Woman Comes After Husband With A Knife

A 33-year-old Wallaceburg woman is facing charges after allegedly stabbing the door to a room where her kids were sleeping.

Police say the woman's husband was also in the room at the time.

Investigators say the man was in there hiding from his wife, who he had been arguing with at their residence late Wednesday night.

Officers say that argument took a violent turn when the woman allegedly assaulted her husband, grabbed a kitchen knife, and threatened him.

At that point, police say the man ran into the bedroom where both of their children were sleeping and closed the door. The woman then allegedly stabbed the door with the knife, breaking off the tip of the blade.

Police were called to the scene and arrested the woman. While they were there, officers say they learned it wasn't the first time that the man had been the victim of domestic violence.

A 33-year-old Wallaceburg woman is now charged with two counts of assault, two counts of uttering threats, and one count each of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
