Drunk Woman Arrested Twice

A 34-year-old Zone Township woman is facing a number of charges after police say she was arrested twice in the same day.

Officers say they picked her up Thursday morning in a vehicle that was parked in a parking lot off of Grand Ave. in Chatham.

Police say they found her passed out in the backseat of the vehicle -- they also allegedly found an open bottle of alcohol near the driver's seat.

Investigators say they believe the woman was driving under the influence, so she was taken back to police headquarters where she refused to provide a breath sample. Officers charged her and released her once she sobered up.

Then, at around 9:45pm last night, police were called to respond reports of an intoxicated woman on Queen St. in Chatham. Officers say they found the same 34-year-old woman, took her into custody, and charged her with being intoxicated in a public place.
