Chatham Man Acquitted In Threat Case

A Cobourg court has acquitted a Chatham man after threats had been allegedly made to the prime minister and his family.

Back in January, 57-year-old James Martin Platts was arrested on a VIA Rail train in the Cobourg area.

During the Toronto-bound train ride, passengers overheard someone making threats over the phone involving Justin Trudeau, his family as well as female MPs.

Cobourg court services staff told BlackburnNews.com Platts was acquitted, but didn't have any more information about his release.
